Day 8. Rockford, IL

Had a very productive Day 8 yesterday.
First, we met with the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, Fresenius Medical Care North America at their Dupage, IL location to educate them using Lynn’s and my kidney donation to help their clients find and educate potential living donors.
We stress the National Kidney Registry Voucher Program as we feel it’s the easiest way for a person to donate and results in the best match for a living donor. We also talked about the role the National Kidney Donation Organization can do in mentoring potential donors.
We theN met the Sr. Director of Pharmacy, his college age son, and the Director of Pharmacy from UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital 35 miles from Rockford, IL and we all rode our bikes in for a fantastic reception at SwedishAmerican. Jim Brien, who received a kudney 42 years ago from his brother also joined for the last couple of miles.
There were dozens of Hospital staff, my sister Gee Gee Jannene and recent kidney donor Tim Mullen and his soon to be donor Linda Mullen present to greet us.
We then went to supporters Chiropractic First of Rockford to meet with their staff and recent local 72 year old kidney donor Vikki.
